Once you have made an initial enquiry with us, you will be offered a “no obligation!” and “free quote!”. “Yes book us in” if you decide to hire / employ us for your house move or a bulk item collection as well as any of the other services we are able to provide you with, it is the owner of the business (RM)** who will walk you through how we opertate, provide you with useful hints and tips to take the stress out of moving home. Job vacancy - Permanent employment
Job title - Furniture Remover
Pay - Starting at £10.50 per hour (reviewed after probationary period)
Hours - 20hrs guaranteed to start + unlimited overtime (30-40hrs average working week)
Probation period - 3 months
This is a physically demanding role
We are a small family owned and run business with decades of removals / transport / light haulage experience. We offer a range of services from single bulk item jobs, commercial customers transporting their stock/goods, house removals and moving anything to anywhere.
Essential skills
Full UK driving licence with max 3 points. Driving large 3.5t LGV vehicles. Excellent customer Service skills. Maths and English to GCSE pass standard. Time keeping. Honest and trustworthy. Able to pass enhanced CRB checks. Positive working attitude. Flexible working attitude to hours. Over 25 years of age for insurance purposes.
Desirable skills
Previous removals industry experience. Social media skills. Good house keeping practices. Able to learn new skills quickly. Ability to work alone and as part of a small team.
We work over a 6 day period Monday - Saturday as and when workload dictates.
As an employee of Mann and Van you receive an equal share of any tips, as well as other perks on the job and outside of work.

One of our #housemoves this week was literally around the corner from us.
Paul, Mel and their 5 children have moved from Davenham to Moulton.
It took us a little over 9 hours start to finish, making 2 trips in both luton vans due to the amount of things a family of 7 accumulate!
We are now closed for a well deserved rest until after the weekend when it all starts again on Monday with a job up to Fleetwood nr Blackpool.

Our customer Alison has had these items, plus a lot of timber, in storage for a year at #surestorenorthwich while she had a new #studio built to replace her old and dangerous #asbestos garage.
The #potterswheel and #kiln were both very heavy and required a fair amount of muscle to get them onto and off the van 💪.

We've done many moves and bulk item collections already this week, with 2 more full house moves to finish today and tomorrow before a well deserved rest over the weekend, but this beautiful solid oak unit had to get a mention.
It was lovingly built by our customers grandfather many years ago and it will be staying in their family for many more years to come.

The detail on the carving, families initials, quality of the turning and finish is quite frankly amazing and with so much vintage and antique furniture being painted or modernised these days, it's nice to see and know that this piece will be kept as intended.

Another removal over to the Nottingham area from Moulton, this time to Edwinstowe near Mansfield, for Jack, his wife and the kids.
We ended up needing to use all 3 vans after "someone" went buying new things for the house 🤣...not mentioning any names though 🤫.
Although it was a bit last minute to get the 3rd van and myself ready to make the move possible in a single trip, it was a real pleasure working with Jack and his Mrs, who were very hands on and with the 5 of us unloading, it took just over 2 hours to empty all the vans 💪💪💪💪💪.

In between all the house moves and bulk item/furniture collections we often slip a motorbike or two in 😄.
This is definitely the smallest #motorbike we've ever #transported.
The customer contacted us last minute to collect this little #coltmotorcycle which is a copy of the ever popular #hondagrom.
He's never had a bike before and will be using it to commute back and to work, costing pennies in fuel, tax and insurance 😃👍👍👍.

Great couple of days away on the bike this week.
Firstly going to Brands Hatch GP circuit, then straight up to Silverstone GP circuit the next day with good mate.
The weather was excellent and only the last session at Brands didn't happen 💦 as we had slicks fitted to both sets of wheels 🙈.

Another out of area removal today, from Sandbach over to the Nottingham area for Rich.
Following on from our trip up to Scotland this week, today was a 1st floor flat move from #cheshire over to #nottinghamshire, where the central heating had been left on in the flat 😅😅😅 so the loading was a lot harder than it could have been!
Needless to say 1.25 hours to load up then a nice drive across the country with light traffic and a simple unload mostly into the garage taking 0.75hrs.

For the 2nd time in less than a year we moved Ann and her husband.
The first time it was from #melrose in #scotland down to #middlewich and today we moved them back up to the #scottishborders town of #kelso.

This week we moved Paul and his wife from Davenham over to Marton for the second time in just over 13 months.
Despite having 3 vans full we completed the entire job in just 6.5 hours with 3 men.

Brilliant ride at Oulton Park this weeknd on the R1. So many crazy and funny things happened and the paddock banter was as good as ever.
We managed to get our lap times down from a 1m 59s in qualifying to a 1m 55s by the end of race 2, which was the main goal for the weekend, plus staying on the lead lap and not being passed by the field which included Ise of Man and Irish road racers!
Now the weather has finally perked up 🌞 the outdoor jobs are starting to come in again.
We were asked to dismantle and transport this old shed from Rudheath to our customers allotment nr Weaverham.
It wasn't in the best of condition but with a few simple repairs and a lick of paint, we're sure it'll last for many more years to come.
